House Rules & Code of Conduct
How we look after each other, our club, and the game. We come from many countries and backgrounds, and that is our strength — these rules keep KCC welcoming, safe and fair for everyone. Every member agrees to them on joining.
1. Respect, always
Treat every member, opponent, umpire and visitor with respect. Cricket is a gentleman's game — bullying, harassment or abuse of any kind has no place here. We respect each other, full stop.
2. Neutral ground
We are here for cricket. KCC is not a place for political opinions or religious campaigning. Keep those debates off the field and respect that we all see the world a little differently.
3. Alcohol, smoking & drugs
Drink responsibly, and never while you are still to bat, bowl or field that day. Belgian law applies: no beer or wine under 16, no spirits under 18, and no alcohol is served to playing juniors. The clubhouse and all areas around junior activities are smoke- and vape-free. Illegal drugs and performance-enhancing substances are strictly forbidden anywhere at the club.
4. Photos & social media
KCC runs one official Instagram, managed by the club. Only the club posts on the club's behalf, and photos are shared only through the official handle and only with consent — a parent or guardian consents for a junior. Please don't post photos of other members without asking them first.
5. Food we share
When we eat together, label dishes clearly — vegetarian, halal, or contains meat — and always offer a vegetarian option, so everyone can eat with confidence.
6. Language
Dutch is our official and administrative language (and our federation's working language); English is our common language on and off the field. All languages are welcome socially, and we are glad to help newcomers with Dutch and club paperwork.
7. Club equipment & kit
Club gear is shared and paid for by all of us. Treat it as your own: clean it and put it away after use, report any damage straight away, and sign items in and out so the club inventory stays accurate. All equipment remains club property.
8. Guests & children
You are responsible for any guests you bring. Outside organised sessions, children are supervised by their parents or guardians, not by the club.
9. Our ground & clubhouse
Help set up and pack down, leave the clubhouse and ground as clean as you found them, and wear appropriate footwear — no metal spikes on the artificial pitch.
Every member agrees to abide by these House Rules on joining. For members under 18, a parent or guardian agrees on their behalf. These house rules sit alongside the KCC Club Rules & Member Obligations and the club statutes, and our Safeguarding Policy. The full Club Rules are available from the club on request.
